Program – a week in Milan A time travel (day 1)

A fashion designer, famous for his elegant and glamorous creations, will open his atelier and unveil his secrets. In a 20th century charming palace in the heart of Milan, the stylist set his atelier furnished and decorated in black, white and red, according to his personal style. Live a supreme experience learning the secrets of the fashion system: find out the style department works, admire the sketchy drawings and touch, handle cloths and accessories, attend the models' fitting and visit the showroom. The visit will be enriched by videos of backstage and fashion shows.

The capital of design (day 3)
Visit Museo del Novecento, the Museum of the Twentieth Century, located in the Palazzo dell'Arengario, a public venue dedicated to Milan's collection of Twentieth-Century Art.
Visit La Triennale di Milano, established in 1923 as a showcase for modern decorative and industrial arts, with the aim of stimulating relations among the industry, production sectors and applied arts.
La Triennale di Milano is the main Italian event for the sectors of architecture, visual and decorative arts, design, fashion and audio/video production; it is a cultural production centre that organizes and produces exhibitions, meetings, film festivals and travelling exhibitions.
The experience continues at Achille Castiglioni's studio and museum to admire prototypes, objects and drawings made and collected by the famous architect. His works are exhibited in the most famous museums around the world like MoMa in NYC, Victoria and Albert Museum di Londra, Kunstgewerbe Museum in Zurich, Staatliches Museum fur Angewandte Kunst in Munich, Israel Museum in Jerusalem, Denver Art Museum and many others.

The city of the Kings (day 4)
Transfer to Monza to visit the Villa Reale, the Royal Palace, built in 19th century by the Empress of Austria for her son. Admire the imposing halls of the palace, decorated with mirrors, frescoes and fine furnishings, and breathe the atmosphere of the Italian court at the end of the 19th century.
An exhibition of over 200 iconic pieces, testimony of innovations, trials and heterogeneity of the history of Italian design is set until end of 2015. The itinerary is organized chronologically, ranging from the fifties to the present day, alternating the works of great masters (Gio Ponti, Piero Fornasetti, Franco Albini to Bruno Munari, Alessandro Mendini, Andrea Branzi) to new and young designers (Lorenzo Damiani, Martino Gamper, Fabio Novembre).
Move to Monza city centre and visit the cathedral and the Zavattari chapel that houses the Iron Crown, precious treasure dating back to the 4th century. The crown has been used in the coronation ceremonies of great kings of the past, like Charlemagne, Frederick Barbarossa, Charles V and Napoleon. Entrance to the underground museum of the cathedral to admire the wonderful treasures of the Lombard period.

A day on the most charming lake of the world (day 5)
Lake Como is undoubtedly one of the most charming lakes of the world. Over the centuries, due to its beautiful aristocratic palaces and its magnificent gardens, its steep shores, its spectacular views of the mountains, it charmed many travelers, artists and writers. After a walk in Como, an aristocratic city of noble origins, take a vintage boat or a typical battello and get to the Comacina Island, also known as the "Pompei of Northern Italy" for its important Roman and Medieval archaeological sites. Nearby the island is one of the most famous attractions of the lake: Villa del Balbianello, a paradisiacal residence built for a Milan's cardinal in the 18th century. A beautiful garden full of statues surround the palace, the library and the small private church. The villa has been used for shootings in some Hollywood movies productions, including 007 Casino Royale and Star Wars. Finally, arrive at Bellagio, the pearl of the lake, an enchanted small village, laying on the tip that connects the two branches. Here you can enjoy a spectacular view of the mountains, walk along the narrow streets scattered with fine clothes shops and elegant boutiques and taste a coffee in a typical wooden cafè under the arcades on the lakefront.
