  • Athens Christian private day tour: Following the footsteps of St. Paul in Athens & Corinth

Enjoy this full-day private tour in Athens and Corinth specifically designed for those interested in following the footsteps of St Paul in a combination with the great history of Greece.

Leave Athens driving southwest to Corinth canal, which merges the Aegean with the Ionian Sea (short stop for photos of the breathtaking view). Shortly thereafter we reach the ancient town of Corinth, where St. Paul lived and preached for two years (Acts 18:1-18). Visit the ruins of the ancient city where Paul worked with Aquila and Priscilla, see the remains of the first century shops, the Agora where Paul's trial by Gallio took place, the Fountain of Peirene, the temple of Apollo and the Bema. We will also visit the ruins of Cechrae, the harbour from which St. Paul sailed to Ephesus (Acts 18:18).

We continue with a drive back to Athens for a panoramic drive, passing by the National Garden, the Hadrian's Arch, St. Paul's Church, the Parliament, the Catholic Cathedral, the University of Athens, the Academy of Athens, and the National Library. We will also do a short stop at Panathinaiko Stadium where the first Olympic Games took place in 1896. Proceed, passing by Zappeion and Temple of Olympian Zeus.

Our experienced guide will take you then to Acropolis in order to see the Parthenon, the Propylaea, the Temple of Athena Nike, and the Mars Hill (Acts 17:22) where Apostle Paul delivered his well known sermon. Then you will walk to Plaka, a picturesque area under the slopes of the Acropolis and the Ancient Agora, where St Paul preached and met his followers, exchanging ideas and discussing about the new religion.

  • Jewish heritage private tour of Athens

Experience Athens's Jewish culture on a fascinating 6-hour private specifically designed for those who are interested in both the history of the Jewish community of Greece and the must-see sites of ancient and modern Athens.

You will be picked up in the morning by our luxury vehicle and our professional guide in order to see the old Synagogue of Athens, Etz Hayyim, which was built in 1904 and is used today only during the High Holidays. Right across the street is the newer and larger Beth Shalom Sephardic synagogue, built in 1935, renovated in the 70's, and the one fully used today. Its exterior is in white marble with neoclassical elements, while the spacious interior bears not much resemblance to the Greek tradition regarding synagogue design.

We will continue with a visit to the Jewish museum. This museum was founded in 1977 in order to collect and exhibit the material evidence of 2300 years of Jewish life in Greece. The collection contains more than ten thousand artefacts (some of which are unique) pertaining to the domestic and religious life, as well as the history of the Greek Jews. The Jewish museum is under the slopes of the Acropolis, so you will have the opportunity to have a nice walk to Acropolis hill, where will be the next stop of this tour.

Acropolis is an UNESCO'S world heritage monument. You will visit the Propylae, the monumental entrance to the Acropolis which blends Doric and Ionic building principles, and the small temple Athena Nike, which stands on a protruding mass of rock, protecting the gate to the citade and of course the Parthenon, and Erechtheion with its porch of Maidens.

The half day Jewish tour ends with a panoramic drive around center of Athens before the drop off at the door of you hotel in Athens.
